I am an experienced Data Scientist and Web Developer with a demonstrated history of working in both academic and industry. I have strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) focused on Machine Learning from the University of Technology Sydney.

Experience

Research Fellow

University of Technology Sydney

Researched on Bayesian Deep Learning topic, which aims to take advantages from both Probabilistic models and Deep Learning. Developed novel methods for complex machine learning of large-scale, sparse, multi-source and dynamic data. Supervised new PhD students.

January 2019 - Present

Data Scientist

Northern Beach, Lake Macquarie City Council and University of Technology Sydney

Designed and developed a novel data-driven platform based on the regression model for Smart Beach Analytics project. Gathered requirements from stakeholders and translated them to safety and risk analysis and prediction for better planning and management of beaches. Tools: Python, Django, RestfulAPI, React, Bootstrap, HighCharts, MongoDB, TensorFlow, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas and Matplotlib.

March 2019 - June 2020

CTO, Data Science Expert

iMass

Managed a team of 12 people. Designed and developed Sherlock Engine, a recommender system for making a decision (i.e., email marketing campaign, A-B testing and user segmentation). This model helped companies to gain the potential customer base by approximately 40% by analyzing millions of current customers. Tools: R, RoR, Bootstrap, Highcharts, Mahout, NoSQL, GAE and AWS/SES/S3.

August 2013 - January 2015

Senior Developer, Team Leader

Evolable Asia

Led a team of four people to develop a Customer Relation Management (CRM) module of EC-REVO, an e-commerce project for Japan market. Tools: RoR, Bootstrap, Highcharts, MySQL and AWS.

October 2012 - August 2013

Research Intern

Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble

Designed and developed a novel data mining method for stock price prediction. Tools: C/C++.

March 2010 - October 2011

Developer

Softech

Developed some modules for e-Commerce and ERP project. Developed some CMS(Content Management System) websites.

April 2006 - June 2007
